Dr Wilson wins Gazette Education Award

A huge congratulations to Head of Science, Dr Richard Wilson, who won a Gazette Education Award in the Science and Technology category.

The awards ceremony, held at the Apollo Hotel in Basingstoke on Friday 13th July, was attended by senior education chiefs from the local area and was initiated by the Gazette newspapers (Andover and Basingstoke) and sponsored by a number of companies including Waitrose and Basingstoke and Dean County Council. A parent who nominated Dr Wilson said: “The Head of Science at Testbourne is an amazing Science teacher who really inspires the children. He has completely engaged my daughter and made her believe that anything is possible for her to achieve in her future career and she just loves science now. He organised a science evening for all the parents and children to attend and this was in his private time which was fun and inspiring. This country needs more teachers like him, especially in the sciences and especially ones who inspire more girls to choose it as a career.” Thank you to our local community for nominating Testbourne teachers in these awards, we know a large number of our staff were also nominated for an award and those messages meant so much to our teachers.
